We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting the first ever Skeptic Awards ceremony organised by our friends over at The Skeptic magazine. The ceremony will form part of our Saturday night entertainment at QED next March. We're hoping to be able to surprise you with some special guests. There will be envelopes. There will be prizes. We can promise that there will be no long Oscar style acceptance speeches and we are fairly confident that whoever wins may well thank their family and fans but they won't be thanking God!
The Skeptic magazine are asking for your votes in the following categories:
- The best podcast
- The best blog
- The best event, campaign or outreach event of the year. This could be an organisation or website that has done a particular task over a period of time, or it could be one event which has helped to raise public awareness of a skeptical issue
- The best science video clip on the web
- The best sceptical video clip on the web
There will also be an 'Editors' Choice' award for lifetime achievement.
So what do you need to do? Well first you need to visit the Skeptic magazine website to vote for your favourites. Then, if you haven't already, you'll want to buy your QED tickets.
