Question, Explore, Discover
QED is a celebration of science, reason and critical thinking, and in 2025 weʼre going out on a high.
Join us one last time at the Mercure Piccadilly Hotel in central Manchester on 25th-26th October 2025. Itʼs the end of an era and weʼre going to make it unforgettable. Fantastic speakers from the worlds of science and entertainment will be joining us to celebrate everything that makes skepticism in the UK vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring. QED has always been about community, so if attending is still on your bucket list, there wonʼt be another chance.
As always, we aim to be an inclusive event, welcoming attendees from all backgrounds, ethnicities, and genders.
Latest Update
One of the best things about attending QED is the social side – from chatting and hanging out in the bar and social spaces, to sharing thoughts digitally with other attendees during talks and panels. With that in mind, we have a few ways to help make socialising a little easier!

SkeptiCamp 2025
As part of the QED weekend, we will be again hosting SkeptiCamp Manchester, a free event where the
attendees are responsible for the creation and delivery of the
dayʼs content and anyone is eligible to present a talk.
You donʼt need to be a published author, famous podcaster or professional communicator to get involved. SkeptiCamp Manchester 2025 takes place on Friday 24th October and is again being organised by our good friends at Skeptics in the Pub Online.
About QED
QED is organised by North West Skeptical Events Ltd, a volunteer-owned, non-profit organisation. Each year we aim for QED to break even, spending all funds raised by ticket sales on creating the best event possible. Any surplus is reinvested in future events or donated to good causes.
